2021 NFL Draft: Baltimore Ravens 7-round mock
Any team that wants to challenge the Chiefs and Bills for AFC supremacy needs to have as many cover corners as possible. Daniels missed the entire 2019 collegiate season due to injury but bounced back with a solid 2020 campaign which should be enough to get him drafted in the later rounds.
Scouts like Daniels because he has the size and toughness to compete with bigger receivers on the outside. His lack of elite speed does limit his ceiling as a prospect, but he runs well enough to get by with a reasonable amount of safety help.
Daniels’ stock is also weighed down by his lack of ball skills. He failed to log a single interception during his two seasons with the Horned Frogs. Baltimore doesn’t need him to be a ball hawk though. If he can step in and become a solid No. 4 corner during his rookie season then he’ll be a steal in Round 5.
Cornerback doesn’t necessarily project as a clear need for Baltimore heading into the draft, but they can’t amass enough secondary talent to compete in the AFC for the foreseeable future. If they can land a corner that can play this late, they should high-five one another in the draft room.
