player. Pick Analysis. Virginia. Tony Poljan. Tight end. 186. 26. Scouting Report

Projecting sixth round picks in the draft can be difficult. Teams really start to have divergent opinions about prospects available at this juncture. That’s why it’s instructive to identify prospects who seem like ideal fits for a team regardless of where they line up in terms of overall value.

Poljan just feels like a guy who would play for the Ravens. The former quarterback converted to tight end relatively late in his college career but picked up the position at a remarkable rate for Virginia. He’s a natural pass-catcher who does a terrific job of using his hands to bring in tough catches over the middle.

If Poljan showed more ability to develop into a quality blocker then he’d likely be going off the board in Round 3 or 4. That’s going to be a real point of emphasis for him at the next level. He’s got the size to be a reasonable blocker on the edge, but his technique has miles to go in that department.

dark. Next. Lamar Jackson's future with the Ravens is complicated

His pass-catching ability still gives him a chance to slot in behind Mark Andrews as Baltimore’s No. 2 tight end in relatively short order. Getting a guy who can play meaningful snaps as a rookie in Round 6 is a big win for any franchise. Poljan has a chance to do that for the Ravens.
