The MVP award sometimes will go out to the least expected player. These 10 names certainly should be in the running for a shot at the coveted title come Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.

When talking about Super Bowl LV, it would be hard to not mention the MVP talent. The star power is at an all-time high with the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers having playmakers that just won’t quit.

Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady play the most important position, making them the front-runner to win the award should their team win. Sometimes though, it’s the wild card that becomes the hero of the game. Does anyone remember Malcolm Smith in 2014? How about Dexter Jackson in 2003?

Even Nick Foles won the dang award despite being the second-best quarterback on the field. So while the expectation is for one of the two pocket-passers to hoist the trophy, these 10 players all could have their shot at becoming this year’s player of the game.

Which players have the best shot to win Super Bowl 55 MVP?

Le'Veon Bell. 10. player. 124. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. RB. Kansas City Chiefs

There’s always a wild card that could have a breakout game in the Super Bowl. Le’Veon Bell’s role has been limited in large part due to his underachieving production. Could this be the game where it all comes together?

The former Steelers star was out for the team’s AFC Championship Game after suffering a knee injury. In the team’s 22-17 win over the Cleveland Browns, he had three total yards. Yep, three.

The one thing that Bell still can show off is his ability out of the backfield as a pass-catcher. Say Mahomes is in the red zone and targets the impending free agent three times for three touchdowns? Would that be enough the “x-factor” in a victory for Kansas City?

RB. Leonard Fournette. Scouting Report. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 9. player. 48. Pick Analysis

Was Leonard Fournette a solid find during the regular season? No. Has he been the difference-maker in the run game for the Bucs the postseason? Absolutely. Who’s to say he can’t keep it up in front of the home crowd?

The former Jaguars has tallied at least 55 yards per game this postseason and scored a touchdown in each outing. What might be more interesting is in all three games, Fournette is seeing significantly more snaps than Ronald Jones and making the most of his plays.

Kansas City’s run defense allowed both Cleveland and Buffalo to run for over 100 yards on the day. They allowed 15 first downs to come off rushing plays. Fournette needs to move the ball consistently. If he can do that, there’s a chance he finds the end zone more than once.
