In the final game of the 2020 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be playing for it all.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the final countdown.

In what could only be described as the weirdest, yet perplex season surrounding the NFL due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a season was born. All 17 weeks were played, 14 teams made the postseason and fans felt a bit of normalcy return to their lives for the first time in months.

Then there were two. The long winding road to get to the end of the aisle was bumpy, but the reward was far too worth it. Tom Brady against Patrick Mahomes. The G.O.A.T. against the young B.U.C.K. (Best under center kid) will meet in Raymond James Stadium for Super Bowl LV.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be the ultimate “quarterback away” storyline moving forward. Few moves were added this offseason from the 7-9 roster, but to pass on Jameis Winston for Brady made the dividends. The 43-year-old regained 33-year-old strength and threw for 40 touchdowns and over 4,000 yards for the first time since 2007.

Any other year and those stats would end with an MVP award. Too bad Aaron Rodgers had 48 scores and set a new NFL record.

The Buccaneers return to the big shindig for the first time since 2003. Brady, who will return for the fourth time in five times, now enters an elite category of Super Bowl appearances. Sunday’s game will mark the 10th Super Bowl in his 21st season since being drafted.

The next closest? Try John Elway with five.

Although the Buccaneers have the home-field advantage, let’s not sleep on Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs‘ offense. All season teams haven’t been able to find an answer for the No.1 ranked unit under Eric Bieniemy.

What the real storyline has been the turnaround on defense under second-year defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. With young stars such a L’Jarius Sneed, Rashad Fenton and Willie Gay Jr. (who will not play Sunday), there’s little reason to doubt the unit can’t rebound in 2021.

For now, the 2020 conclusion is the only thing on their mind. A ring and a Lombardi Trophy is the ultimate closing card.
