In his post-Super Bowl presser, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed the accident involving his son that put a child in the hospital.
Andy Reid’s focus wasn’t entirely on the game after the Chiefs lost Super Bowl 55 to the Buccaneers,
During his press conference, Reid took a moment to acknowledge something much bigger than a football game, even one with a championship on the line.
Andy Reid in his opening statement sends his thoughts to the young girl in the accident involving his son who is "fighting for her life." Says he can't answer questions but adds: "Just from a human standpoint, my heart bleeds for everybody involved in that."

Reid’s son, Britt, was involved in a multi-car accident in Kansas City on Thursday. With two children hurt — and one still in the hospital with life-threatening injuries — the Chiefs’ outside linebackers coach did not travel to Tampa to coach in the Super Bowl.
Andy Reid did the right thing by recognizing the accident victim
If any Kansas City coach had been involved in such an incident, it surely would have demanded addressing from the head coach at some point. The fact that the coach in question is Reid’s son only heightens the importance of Reid extending his thoughts to the child and her family.
An update to the GoFundMe organized for the five-year-old girl’s medical care revealed she remained in critical condition and a coma on Sunday.
It’s no surprise Reid couldn’t say more, though. There is still too much that needs to be resolved from an official standpoint. Any lawyer would advise against discussing any details of a police investigation.
Britt Reid is being investigated for his role in the accident. He allegedly was driving the vehicle which struck two others stopped on the side of a highway. According to reports, Reid was tested for impairment at the scene. Further, he admitted having two or three drinks that night and to taking Adderall, a medication for Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
