Drake stars in State Farm ad with Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes (Video)

Drake got Twitter buzzing over his State Farm Super Bowl commercial that also featured Patrick Mahomes and NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers.

Super Bowl LV kicked off this evening from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida as the hosting Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Kansas City Chiefs. The duel between quarterbacks Tom Brady and reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes has been the talk of all the media leading up to the big game, but the commercials always seem to stick with us.

Chiefs quarterback Mahomes has starred in his fair share of endorsement commercials over the past few years. Head & Shoulders, Adidas, and DirecTV are just a few of the companies that have already tapped the new, young face of the NFL for endorsement deals. But on Super Bowl Sunday, Mahomes had his star power tested against hip-hop’s biggest name.

In a star-studded State Farm commercial, Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers and Jake from State Farm all discuss their stand-ins on the set of a State Farm commercial. Actor Paul Rudd posed as the double for Mahomes while Jake From State Farm got a much cooler stand-in.

Drake makes an appearance in State Farm’s first Super Bowl ad

Ahead of the release of his sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy, the rapper took a page out of his old acting book for State Farm. Before being discovered by Lil Wayne and becoming the most streamed artist in the world, Drake was on the hit television show Degrassi.

This marks the first time that State Farm has ever had an ad placement during the big game. Go big or go home had to be the thought process in tapping arguably the biggest musical act in the world right now. ‘Drake from State Farm’ was an absolute hit on Twitter as fans weren’t expecting such a superstar surprise.
