Patrick Mahomes’ fiancée Brittany Matthews takes shot at Super Bowl 55 refs
By John Buhler
Brittany Matthews let it be known that she is not liking how the referees are calling the game against her fiancée Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs have not played well thus far in Super Bowl 55. They are down multiple scores to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Patrick Mahomes is talented enough to orchestrate a monumental comeback, he will not be able to beat the referees, too. His fiancée Brittany Matthews took her frustrations over the way the game was being called to Twitter.
Kansas City has been significantly more penalized than the Buccaneers. The Chiefs have been flagged on several occasions in the secondary, allowing Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay offense to march down the field and seemingly score at will. Brady may be the greatest quarterback of all time, but Matthews’ fiancé is the greatest player in the game today.
Self-inflicted penalties and mental mistakes are killing the Chiefs tonight
Though we have seen crazier comebacks in the Super Bowl before, the Chiefs have to get into rhythm quickly to avoid being upset by the hometown Buccaneers. While the Buccaneers had not made the playoffs since 2007 prior to this year, you would think they are regulars in the postseason with the way they are playing. Again, a lot of this has to do with Brady’s presence.
So while the Chiefs continue to be mired in perpetual frustration, blaming the refs is a great way to deflect blame off their collective poor performance. One would believe the Chiefs will get back to several more Super Bowls with Mahomes as their quarterback. However, they are running out of time to possibly be the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champions in nearly a generation.
Blaming the officials is never a good look, but nothing has gone right for the Chiefs tonight.
