Patrick Mahomes had the greatest incompletion of all time in Super Bowl 55 (Video)

Patrick Mahomes almost pulled off one of the greatest touchdown passes in Super Bowl history…had it actually been caught.
Super Bowl 55 has not gone the way that the Kansas City Chiefs had hoped. A 21-6 halftime deficit to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers increased to 31-9 entering the fourth quarter. The Chiefs almost got a touchdown on the board, thanks to the magic of quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Facing third-and-nine, Mahomes scrambled free of the Buccaneer’s vicious pass rush but ran into a tackle by linebacker Shaquill Barrett. As he was being brought to the ground, Mahomes unleashed a pass to the back corner of the end zone to receiver Byron Pringle, who just missed out on the catch.
Not the only impressive incompletion for Mahomes
As it turns out, this was not the only impressive pass attempt by Mahomes. On the very next play, Mahomes rolled out to the right sideline after getting chased by Buccaneers defensive lineman William Gholston. As Gholston tripped up Mahomes, the quarterback released a picture-perfect side-armed pass before hitting the turf. The problem was that the pass would hit running back Darrel Williams in the hands, but was dropped.
Dropped passes were an issue for the Chiefs, as it held Mahomes without a single touchdown pass against Tampa Bay’s defense. Mahomes finished the night completing 26-of-49 pass attempts for 270 yards and two interceptions.
Let the record show that even incomplete passes by Mahomes are probably the most exciting plays in the NFL.
