With Tom Brady winning his seventh Super Bowl, it feels like Patrick Mahomes has virtually no chance to catch up to the veteran signal-caller.

What a performance we all just witnessed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers absolutely dominating the Kansas City Chiefs and winning Super Bowl 55. In that win, quarterback Tom Brady threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns, taking home Super Bowl MVP honors for the fifth time.

Brady now has seven Super Bowl rings to his collection, which is a number that’s simply unheard of. For Patrick Mahomes, however, this was his chance to put a dent in Brady’s legacy and give him a shot to potentially top his number of Super Bowl titles down the road. That’s not going to happen.

Tom Brady now has seven Super Bowl rings and no one will ever catch him

This really was Mahomes shot to make a statement in the old ‘GOAT’ conversation. Had the Chiefs taken down the Bucs like everyone expected, that would have given the Kansas City superstar his second ring, putting him four behind Brady.

Instead, Mahomes is stuck at one and Brady is now six clear of him with his seven. While Mahomes is still only 25 years old, the thought of him winning six more Super Bowl titles before he retires feels like it will take a miracle to happen.

While Kansas City is built to compete for titles each year because of its young core, the Bucs showed everyone the Chiefs are not invincible and made the team’s offense look sluggish from start to finish.

Brady is going to enjoy this one and then it will be back to the practice field soon as he prepares for the 2021 campaign. Don’t be surprised to see the Bucs have Brady in a position to take home Super Bowl title No. 8 next year. That’s how outstanding they looked on Sunday.

Next. Holy cow! Tom Brady has now won more Super Bowls than all 32 NFL franchises. dark
