Pick Analysis. 191. 55. Austin Watkins. player. Scouting Report. Wide receiver. UAB

The Steelers added a valuable slot receiver earlier in this mock, but they can still afford to go for an intriguing outside guy in Round 6. Watkins showed a real knack to make contested catches during his collegiate career at UAB. That makes him an intriguing deep threat for an offense that needs a little more juice.

The downside to Watkins as a prospect is that he didn’t do a great job securing separation during his collegiate career. The Steelers can gamble that improving his route-running skills will solve that issue. Watkins is a worthwhile gamble at this stage of the draft.

Iowa. 210. 55. Pick Analysis. Offensive tackle. player. Scouting Report. Alaric Jackson

There’s a chance Jackson goes earlier in this if a team believes he can stick at tackle as a starter. It’s distinctly possible that he’ll need to kick inside to guard if he wants to be a real impact player at the NFL level.

Pittsburgh’s need for help at both spots makes them a great landing spot for the former Iowa standout. He’s got the length Pittsburgh covets on the outside. He might be able to grow into a valuable swing tackle as a rookie if everything breaks right.
