Steelers fans get to see some former stars and one big rival compete for a title Sunday in the Super Bowl.

Pittsburgh Steelers fans were riding high after the team jumped out to an 11-0 start this season. The final result was two straight losses to the Cleveland Browns that included an embarrassing playoff exit.

The nightmare continues for Steelers fans with Sunday’s Super Bowl. One side features former star running back Le’Veon Bell. The other features Antonio Brown and former rival Tom Brady. Steelers fans will have a tough time finding any rooting interest and may just want to enjoy the commercials.

Changing fortunes in Pittsburgh

The Steelers last won a Super Bowl during the 2008 season. Brown showed up in 2010 and Bell joined the team in 2013. Their respective tenures were filled with plenty of promise, but a lack of results in terms of achieving the ultimate goal.

The deepest the team got with both stars was the AFC Championship Game during the 2016 season. You may recall that postseason because the Patriots ultimately won the Super Bowl after the Atlanta Falcons suffered a legendary collapse. All fans in Pittsburgh could do was lament the fact they couldn’t get a shot against Atlanta.

Brady is the opposite of a beloved figure in Pittsburgh, but fans may have a tough time openly rooting for the Chiefs on Sunday, especially if Bell ends up making some big plays.

Bell and Brown had controversial exits and it is clear the end of an era is arriving in Pittsburgh. The Super Bowl actually distracts Steelers fans from having to worry about how the team will pay Ben Roethlisberger and if he is even the best option at quarterback in 2021.

Fans of 30 NFL teams are sitting at home Sunday wishing it was their team playing. For Steelers fans, this one stings even more knowing past stars are now trying to help other teams win a title. One former star is even assisting Brady in the cause, which is enough to make some Steelers fans watch the Puppy Bowl instead.
