2. WR Danny Amendola

Amendola spent the last two seasons with Stafford in Detroit, with a total of 108 catches on 166 targets in 29 games. At this stage of his career, at 35 years old, he’ll want to go somewhere he can win. It makes perfect sense if he is one of the unnamed players who has texted Stafford about joining him in Los Angeles.

How Amendola would fit in the Rams’ wide receiver corp is an immediate question, with how much he lines up in the slot and Cooper Kupp lining up in the slot as much as he does. But Sean McVay can probably work that part out, as Amendola is not a full-time player and Kupp doesn’t comes off the field very much.

The appeal of Amendola for the Rams, beyond any built-in rapport with Stafford, will be cost. He collected just shy of $5 million from the Lions in 2020, but $3 million of that was signing bonus and nearly another $500,000 ($468,750) was total bonus for the games he was active. A cheap one-year deal, with a low base salary and incentives (per-game active bonuses, performance, etc.), looks ideal for both sides.
