Maskless Bucs fans flood streets in super-spreader celebration (Video)
After their first Super Bowl win since 2003, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans took to the Tampa streets to celebrate amid COVID-19 concerns.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their second Super Bowl in franchise history last night and it was definitely one to remember.
The NFL season was plagued with postponements and cancellations throughout the year but we somehow made it to and made it through the biggest sporting event of the year.
About 25,000 fans were on hand at Raymond James Stadium to watch the Bucs become the first team to win a Super Bowl on their home field in the middle of a global pandemic. If that number is appalling to you given the circumstances, don’t worry. 7500 of them were vaccinated health workers.
In what’s been a tough 12 months, sports have brought joy to the lives of many. So it was no surprise that Tampa Bay fans took their own streets to celebrate a Super Bowl win in their city. The only problem was that there weren’t many masks around at all.
Buccaneers fans celebrate Super Bowl win without masks
The Super Bowl experience didn’t seem to miss a beat. One fan still found a way to make his presence felt in a unique way. The Bucs took care of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs pretty easily last night and their fans celebrated as any fanbase would. Except we’re kind of in the middle of a pandemic.
Count the masks in this video.

You would think that video was from any year other than 2021 given how insane of an experience the last year has been. Still, sports continue to show us exactly what they mean to us.
This thread shows Tampa fans getting progressively more celebratory. Still not many masks.
Tampa fans even crowded the team bus after the big win. I suppose its hard to say what you would or wouldn’t do during a pandemic if your team won the Super Bowl in your city. I would also think we’d choose to be a little more responsible.
We can only hope that the Super Bowl doesn’t trigger an influx of COVID-19 cases after watching those videos.
