3. Cowboys free-agent target – DT Dalvin Tomlinson

Let’s continue to work on the run defense in Dallas by bulking up the defensive tackle position. There are players that the Cowboys could target in the draft but it doesn’t seem likely that Jones will want to use a premium pick on a run-stuffing defensive tackle, making this a free agent need.

Injuries decimated the interior of Dallas’ defensive line in 2020 as both Antwaun Woods and Trysten Hill landed on injured reserve. The Cowboys didn’t play particularly well against the run with them in the lineup anyway, making this a spot that can be upgraded easily.

One player who would be a nice fit is Giants’ defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson, who would be a nice presence in the middle of the Cowboys’ defensive line. Tomlinson is a free agent that New York may not be able to afford as it looks to retain Leonard Williams and add some more pieces to improve the rest of the roster.

Quinn would love the ability to put Tomlinson on the inside of his defensive line since his ability to command double-teams would help free outside rushers like Randy Gregory and Aldon Smith to set up one-on-one matchups. Tomlinson is also an excellent run defender who would shore up the Cowboys’ biggest weakness from 2020.
