When’s the last time Kentucky basketball missed the NCAA Tournament?
With a host of top teams struggling heading into March, we’re wondering when was the last time Kentucky basketball missed the NCAA tournament?
March is just a few weeks away and it’s a wonder we’ve made it this far into the college basketball season. The year has been filled with a ton of cancellations and postponements. A lot of the top teams in the country are struggling to survive and keep their NCAA tournament hopes in play.
Kentucky basketball has had a year unlike any other. The Wildcats are 5-12 at the time of publishing and fans are starting to suggest replacements for John Calipari. With the year just about over and Terrence Clarke likely out for the remainder of the season, things aren’t looking too well for the Wildcats.
With all of this madness before March even starts, we’ve been asking ourselves. When was the last time Kentucky basketball missed the NCAA tournament?
Kentucky basketball on the verge of missing the NCAA tournament for the first time in 8 years.
The last time the Kentucky Wildcats won the national championship was in 2012 when they were led by Anthony Davis. The next year, they failed to make the NCAA Tournament with a record of 21-11. They became the 20th team to miss the big dance the year after winning it all.
The results of the season for the Wildcats are pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point. The only chance Kentucky basketball has at making the NCAA Tournament is if they win the SEC Tournament. It’s possible but not likely they win four games in a row when they have only won five times all season to this point.
