LeBron James is in his 18th season and somehow he just keeps getting better and the records just keep falling.

Closing in on his second decade in the NBA, LeBron James is absolutely still at the top of his game. At the age of 36, he’s a legitimate MVP candidate for one of the best teams in the league and the presumptive championship favorites. He’s averaging 25.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game and has suddenly made himself into one of the best 3-point shooters in the league.

It honestly seems like every night he goes out and does something we’ve never seen before, either with one-off brilliance or crossing some historical benchmark with years of high-end production. For example, his Monday night triple-double against the Oklahoma City Thunder gives him the most all-time by a player his age.

Where does LeBron James rank on the all-time triple-double list?

LeBron currently ranks fifth on the career triple-double list with 97. He currently trails Jason Kidd (107), Magic Johnson (138), Russell Westbrook (151) and Oscar Robertson (181). At his current pace, there’s a good chance LeBron will pass Kidd before he retires but Johnson, Westbrook and Robertson may be out of reach. Of course, with LeBron, anything is possible.

If LeBron finishes this season at his current averages, it would be the fourth season of his career with averages of at least 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Even more incredibly, all four of those have come in his last five seasons and the only he missed (last year), he finished with an average of 7.8 rebounds per game and a league-leading 10.2 assists per game. The only other players to finish a season above those benchmarks are Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, James Harden, Luka Doncic and Russell Westbrook. In an interesting twist, Nikola Jokic is on pace to join that list this season.
