Undefeated heavyweight Jared Anderson scored a highlight-reel knockout of Kingsley Ibeh in round 6 of their Feb. 13 bout.

Before their heavyweight bout, Jared Anderson said that he thought Kingsley Ibeh would be the toughest test of his young career.

He may have been right, but it ended the same way as his previous seven contests, by knockout.

Anderson (8-0, 8 KOs) made his fifth trip to The Bubble at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas his most memorable. Ibeh hit Anderson with some shots in the early going of their Feb. 13 match, but Anderson broke him down as the rounds went on.

Ibeh (5-2-1, 4 KOs) previously made a name for himself in The Bubble. He gave undefeated prospect Guido Vianello fits in when they fought to a draw in October, but his recent winning ways came to a sudden, violent end against Anderson.

In round 6, Ibeh’s nose was bleeding badly and fatigue set in. He was sitting back on the ropes trying to absorb Anderson’s punches, but a left hook slipped in a left hook that smashed against Ibeh’s face.

Ibeh fell flat on his back to the canvas like a tree being chopped down in a forest. Ibeh looked to be conscious, but he was too hurt to attempt to get to his feet. The referee saw that Ibeh was unable to respond and called the fight to an end.

Anderson has only fought professionally for 16 months, but his string of eight straight KO victories has him rated as the 35th best heavyweight in the world by Boxrec.com. He was a two-time U.S. national champion as an amateur and showed a mix of boxing skills and power against Ibeh.

Anderson got 2021 off to a hot start with a KO win that will surely go viral.
