NCAA seed reveal: Selection committee breaks down the Top 16
March Madness seed reveal – No. 4 seeds
No. 13 – Iowa
The Hawkeyes have been ranked in the top five but some recent struggles have seen them slip in the polls. This ranking is reflective of Iowa’s whole resume, however, and their early success can’t be entirely discounted.
No. 14 – Texas Tech
The fourth Big 12 team on the list, the Red Raiders have flown under the radar for most of the season. Chris Beard’s team went to the national championship game two years ago and he has a completely different group in a position to make another deep March Madness run.
No. 15 – Texas
The Longhorns peaked early but have slipped a bit in recent weeks. Texas gave Baylor a run for its money last week and could still improve its seeding with some big wins down the stretch.
No. 16 – Missouri
Another big surprise in the SEC, Missouri’s experience has paid big dividends in a wacky season. The Tigers made waves early with a non-conference victory against Illinois and have carried the momentum forward with a strong performance in SEC play.
