Nets: Kevin Durant to miss several games with hamstring strain
Star Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant is dealing with a hamstring injury and will be on the bench for a little while.
Kevin Durant’s first full, healthy season with the Brooklyn Nets hasn’t exactly gone according to plan. The sharpshooter has dealt with COVID-19 issues and now he’s set to miss at least the next two games due to a hamstring injury.
Durant has played in 19 games this season, missing eight for Brooklyn. Currently, the Nets sit in third place of the Eastern Conference standings with their 16-12 record, 2.5 games back of the first-place Philadelphia 76ers.

It goes without saying, but the longer Durant is out of action, the worse it will be for Brooklyn and its hopes of staying in the hunt to capture the No. 1 seed out East. Durant is in the middle of an outstanding season for the Nets, as he averaging 29 points and more than five assists per game.
As has been the case throughout his spectacular career, the NBA Finals champ has been shooting lights out from all over the hardwood. Durant is shooting 52.4 percent from the field, and 43.4 percent from 3-point land.
When he’s on the court, Durant is always going to be one of the best shooters out there. His clutch shooting really is tough to match. Now that he’s with the Nets and teamed up with Kyrie Irving, James Harden and others, Durant has dreams of helping Brooklyn bring home its first NBA Finals title.
The Nets surely won’t rush him back, as hamstring injuries can be tricky do deal with. However, the sooner Durant can get himself healthy and draining 3-pointers again, the better it will be for Steve Nash and his coaching staff.
