Ravens free agency, Matthew Judon

2. Matthew Judon

Judon has been a useful sack artist for the Ravens during his entire career. That doesn’t mean they should be in a rush to hand him a lucrative contract in free agency.

Instead, Baltimore’s front office should use the plethora of sack artists available on the open market to their advantage. They have a real opportunity to acquire a superior player to Judon for a smaller price tag.

The Ravens should be an attractive landing spot for any edge rusher looking to increase his value. They will provide a potential signing with tons of opportunities to rush the passer without too much concern about anything else. The team’s willingness to use hybrid rushers also gives Baltimore a ton of flexibility when it comes to who they might sign.

It’s a solid bet that Judon is going to get a big deal in free agency. The Ravens need to make the tough decision to let him seek greener pastures somewhere else. Replacing Judon with someone like Haason Reddick or Romeo Okwara would make Baltimore’s defense even more dangerous in 2021.
