Anthony Schwartz. 146. Wide receiver. Auburn. player. 28. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Some pundits believe the Raiders need to spend a high pick on a wide receiver, but the reality is they can find the extra option they need later in the draft. Grabbing an electric athlete like Schwartz in Round 5 will give Las Vegas just the boost they need at wideout.

Schwartz isn’t going to remind anyone of Ruggs in terms of his pure speed, but he’s got gamebreaking ability nonetheless. Auburn worked hard to get him the ball in space on hitches and other short passes. His ability to turn short throws into long gains can earn him reps with the Raiders as a rookie.

Lindenwood. 179. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 28. Linebacker. Drew Seers

The Raiders need to add a steady middle linebacker who can grow into a starter over time. Not many fans are familiar with Seers after his collegiate career at Lindenwood, but he’s squarely on the radar of quite a few NFL teams. He’s got the speed and punch at the point of attack to contribute right away on special teams and grow into a solid reserve after some professional coaching.

Pick Analysis. Arkansas State. 212. 28. player. Scouting Report. Defensive tackle. Forrest Merrill

Taking Merrill in the 7th round is the sort of gamble every franchise should be taking. He’s a massive defensive tackle who has a chance to stick at the next level due to his ability to stuff the run game. If he ever adds anything resembling a pass rush, he could develop into a high-quality backup.
