Former Buccaneers, Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson passes away at 38

Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Vincent Jackson has passed away at the age of 38.
Former NFL wide receiver of San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fame Vincent Jackson was found deceased on Monday.
Jackson was 38-years-old. His body was found at the Homewood Suites in Brandon, Florida. The Hillsborough County Sherrif’s Office is looking into Jackson’s untimely death. Jackson spent his final five NFL seasons with the Buccaneers, making his third and final trip to the Pro Bowl in 2012. He retired after the 2016 season with 540 catches for 9,080 yards and 57 receiving touchdowns.
Vincent Jackson was among the best receivers in the NFL during his prime.
Jackson was selected in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Chargers. The No. 61 overall pick by way of Northern Colorado spent his first seven NFL seasons with the Bolts. His breakout season with the Chargers came in 2008 when he had 59 catches for 1,098 yards and seven touchdowns. He had over 1,000 receiving yards in six of the next seven NFL seasons.
In the middle of his prime, Jackson left San Diego for Tampa Bay, where he would have three more 1,000-yard receiving seasons. His 2012 season was his first with the Buccaneers and the best of his career. He had 72 catches for 1,384 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the league with 19.2 yards per reception and a long of 95 yards to the house. At his peak, he was a truly special player.
