The Milwaukee Brewers have made a big move on Tuesday, agreeing to a one-year deal with left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson.
Good news has arrived for Milwaukee Brewers fans: pitcher Brett Anderson isn’t going anywhere. After making an impact in the rotation for the team in 2020, Anderson was testing the free-agent waters and received interest from multiple clubs.
He’s decided to stay put, though, as it’s been reported that he and Milwaukee have agreed to terms on a new one-year deal. That’s right, Anderson is all set to pitch once again for the Brewers in 2021.
Left-hander Brett Anderson and the Milwaukee Brewers are in agreement on a one-year, $2.5 million contract, pending physical, a source familiar with the deal tells ESPN. Anderson, 33, returns to Brewers and can make an addition $1M in incentives. @Ken_Rosenthal first linked them.

Starting pitcher Brett Anderson will be staying with the Brewers after all
Last season for Milwaukee, Anderson started 10 games for the club and he went 4-4. He also recorded a 4.21 ERA. Prior to his time with the Brewers, Anderson also suited up for the Athletics, Dodgers, Cubs and Blue Jays.
In his 12-year career, Anderson has gone 63-65, with a 4.06 ERA. His best season came back in 2019 for the Athletics, where he posted 13 wins and a 3.89 ERA. Now, he’ll look to have a strong year for Milwaukee in 2021, where he’s all set to earn $2.5 million. Per Jeff Passan, he also has incentives that can help him earn an additional $1 million.
For the Brewers, they’ll be hoping to get back on the right track next season. In 2020, the team went 29-31, finishing in second-to-last place of the NL Central standings. They’ll be hoping to get to the playoffs this year, with Anderson hoping to help the team achieve that goal.
