Lakers vs Timberwolves NBA live stream reddit for February 16
By Mark Powell
The shorthanded Lakers head to Minnesota to take on Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves.
Anthony Davis’ absence from the Lakers lineup will be obvious moving forward, but the Lakers have the bigs to cover for him in the meantime. Montrezl Harrell, in particular, will be asked to carry the load either off the bench or in the starting five if Frank Vogel asks him to step into that role.
LeBron James is listed as probable for this matchup, suggesting he’ll played despite a looming ankle injury. James is once again making his MVP case, as we’ve grown accustomed to seeing.
The Lakers have a 14-5 record against the West, but also tend to struggle against bad teams. That could be the case again vs Minnesota, especially as Karl-Anthony Towns continues to round into form after his return from COVID-19.
The rest of the Wolves’ talented, young core includes Ricky Rubio and Anthony Edwards. The talent is there, but they haven’t all meshed on the court as of yet.
D’Angelo Russell will miss this game, and a few weeks moving forward, after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to remove a loose body from his left knee, per Adrian Wojnarowski. That’ll be a big loss for the Wolves against the Lakers, and the next 4-to-6 weeks.
The Wolves are 7-20 on the season, while the Lakers enter the contest at 21-7.
