Joe Harris is on track to be the most prolific 3-point shooter in Nets’ history

In just seven years with the team, Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Harris is close to becoming the best 3-point shooter in franchise history.

The Brooklyn Nets overcame a 24-point deficit on Tuesday evening to defeat the Phoenix Suns 128-124. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were sidelined for the occasion with a hamstring injury and lower back tightness respectively. Luckily, the Nets have a third superstar in James Harden who finished with 38 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds in the win. Joe Harris also picked up the slack, putting up 22 points and going 4-for-9 from 3-point range.

Harris was a major lift for Brooklyn in the win, scoring 15 of his 22 points in the second half when they needed them most. Hitting those four 3s during the game on Tuesday bumped Harris up another notch on one of his franchise’s best-ever lists.

Joe Harris is now second on the Nets’ all-time three-point shooting list

Since entering the league in 2014, Harris has been known as a prolific shooter. He’s shooting a nearly impossible .495 from three through 30 games so far this season.

His shooting on Tuesday moved him into second place on the franchise’s most 3-pointers made while with the franchise list. Harris has made a total of 688 3-pointers during his seven years with the Nets, moving past former New Jersey Nets guard Kerry Kittles (687).

The only name remaining above Harris’ is legendary Nets point guard and now Lakers assistant coach Jason Kidd. Kidd still remains alone in the number one spot with 813 made 3s with the franchise. It’ll be tough for Harris to overtake Kidd’s record this season given the shortened schedule due to COVID-19 protocol, but he has to have his eyes on the top spot in the near future. One more season and he should be there.
