2021 NFL Draft: New York Giants 7-round mock
The Giants need to continue their roster overhaul this offseason with a strong draft. Here’s a projection of what New York might do with every pick.
Joe Judge’s first season with the Giants ended with his team finishing just one game away from capturing an NFC East crown. Of course, they also played in the worst division in the entire NFL last season. There’s plenty of roster building left for New York to do.
Much of the heavy lifting this offseason will occur in April’s NFL Draft. The Giants will aim to land a star with the No. 11 overall pick in Round 1. Building depth will also be crucial for New York. Finding a wide receiver capable of growing alongside Daniel Jones will be a priority.
The Giants also need to find some help on the defensive side of the ball. Landing an instant impact edge rusher would be huge for the franchise. The secondary also needs to find a starter capable of holding up opposite James Bradberry at corner.
Without delay, let’s get to the mock which begins with New York landing arguably the draft’s top edge rusher at No. 11.
Paye is one prospect that is gaining steam as the draft approaches. There’s a decent chance he won’t remain on the board long enough for the Giants to take him without a trade. The projection here relies somewhat on a few teams moving up to fill their needs at quarterback.
The Giants would be more than happy to stop the Michigan man’s slide. He’s got the size to be an above-average run-defender but the hope is that he’ll also become an elite sack artist. He already boasts a nice array of power moves. If he can add a little finesse to his game on the edge he could develop into a perennial Pro Bowler.
