2021 NFL Draft: Dallas Cowboys 7-round mock
The Dallas Cowboys go with plenty of defense in this mock draft.
There is a lot of work to do for the Cowboys in the offseason. Jerry Jones figures to be active in free agency but the NFL Draft may be a more impactful way for him to improve Dallas’ roster.
With six picks already available and more potentially on the way in the form of compensatory selections, Jones could have up to 10 selections to improve Dallas’ roster. Let’s do a mock draft of the original six selections right now, beginning with the Cowboys’ first-rounder.
Dallas Cowboys mock draft – First Round
The biggest need that the Cowboys have is in the secondary and they can fill it nicely with Farley. There are some concerns about Farley’s lack of experience at the position, which he switched to in 2018, and his decision to opt-out of the 2020 college football season over concerns about the coronavirus pandemic robbed Farley of an opportunity to get more valuable reps.
The talent is unquestioned with Farley, however, and Dallas can’t pass up on the opportunity to add another talented young corner to its secondary after taking Trevon Diggs in the second round last season. Farley has a chance to develop into a true shutdown corner thanks to his rare combination of speed and physicality.
