QB. Houston Texans. 2. Scouting Report. Deshaun Watson. player. 10. Pick Analysis

Who cares if the Houston Texans say he is not available? Deshaun Watson is not really down with playing another snap for the team that drafted him. They are a terrible football team without a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. That is because former head coach/de facto general manager Bill O’Brien gave away what became the No. 3 overall pick to the Miami Dolphins.

One way the Texans can get a top-10 pick this year and another future first-round pick is to trade Watson to the Eagles. This is a team that plays in the opposite conference, meaning the Texans will only see Philadelphia once every four years during the regular season, or if they were to ever meet in the Super Bowl. This trade would allow the Texans to get their next franchise quarterback.

As for Watson’s fit in Philadelphia, he could be the best thing to happen to Sirianni in his young head-coaching career. If you think playing in Philadelphia will be too much for Watson to handle, he has thrived in absolute chaos in Houston. Before that, he played at an elite college football power in Clemson, where it was championship or bust until he went out on top with one in 2016.

While Hurts could maybe become a Pro Bowl passer one day, Watson is destined to win a league MVP here soon, as the perennial Pro Bowler is certainly gifted enough as a quarterback to win a Super Bowl for the right organization. If you take all the best qualities of Carson Wentz and subtract the bad, you pretty much have that in Watson. Trading for him will be expensive, though.
