The Michigan Wolverines defeated their rival Ohio State Buckeyes in a top-5 matchup.
The Wolverines exceptional 2020-21 season continued on Sunday afternoon with a win over their rival, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Juwan Howard is everything the Wolverines have asked for and more after replacing Jon Beilein two seasons ago.
Hunter Dickinson and Eli Brooks led Michigan’s scorers with 22 and 17 points apiece. With the win, Michigan has all but solidified their status as a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, and is right up there with Gonzaga and Baylor among the best teams in the country.
Ohio State, meanwhile, proved themselves on a national stage. Still, losing to Michigan always comes with a little extra sting.
Michigan fans had some fun at Ohio State’s expense
The Wolverines basketball program celebrated this win with a little extra trolling from their fanbase. After what Jim Harbaugh has put them through, it’s within their right.

The Michigan Wolverines just walked into Columbus and beat projected No. 1 seed Ohio State in a true road game.

It's now a two-team race for the B1G regular season title. Michigan is 11-1 in B1G play. Illinois is 12-3. All other B1G schools have at least 5 conference losses.
If Michigan wins this, we're counting it as a football victory as well. That's how it works now.

Michigan going four-wide with a convincing lead late in the final seconds against Ohio State. Tweeting this now, because I don't envision being able to tweet that in the fall anytime soon.

I love that Michigan team. They can do everything, especially pass.

Michigan’s balanced scoring attack makes for an intriguing team come tournament time.
Give Ohio State credit, as they lost arguably the game of the year in college basketball. Michigan dropping nearly 100 on them has to be a little concerning for Chris Holtmann, but the same can be said for Howard once he’s done celebrating and gets to watch some game tape.
Either way, we can only hope for a rematch somewhere down the road.
