The Colts need to add weapons around Wentz if he’s going to rebound in 2021. T.Y. Hilton’s upcoming free agency only complicates that issue for the franchise.

The good news for Indianapolis is that there’s a lot of wide receiver talent available in this year’s free agency class. Fuller is getting a lot of attention as a guy who can legitimately take the top off of opposing defenses when he’s on the field.

The problem with giving Fuller a big deal in free agency is that he won’t be on the field often enough to justify his price tag. He’s missed a total of 19 regular-season contests over the last three seasons. The chances of him enjoying improving health as he enters his late-20s are pretty remote.

The idea of the Colts spending big on a No. 1 wide receiver in free agency is sound. There just happen to be a lot better options than Fuller at the salary he will command. Indianapolis can spend their cash on a much more reliable star.
