3 veterans the Dolphins should replace in the NFL Draft

The Miami Dolphins have as much draft capital as any team in the NFL. They should use some of that to replace veterans no longer improving the team as they head towards contention.
The Miami Dolphins went from laughingstock to playoff contender seemingly overnight.
The team went on a shopping spree last offseason, signing Byron Jones, Kyle Van Noy, Emmanuel Ogbah, Shaq Lawson, Ereck Flowers, and Adrian Colbert. It was a haul to help a team that was coming off a five-win season.
The Dolphins came close to the playoffs, but a 30-point loss in Week 17 sealed the team’s fate as an outsider in the AFC playoff picture. Still, the team has a lot to be excited about in the future. There are still a lot of questions, but having four picks in the Top 50 of the NFL Draft really helps fill almost every question on the board.
Tua Tagovailoa didn’t exactly impress in his rookie season, as the team still needed to rely on the ageless Ryan Fitzpatrick at times. This has caused a lot of analysts to wonder if the Dolphins will try to upgrade at quarterback, whether that’s drafting a Trey Lance or trading for Deshaun Watson.
The Miami Dolphins have holes to fill, and the NFL Draft is a good place to start.
However, the Dolphins have other holes to fill. There are some veterans on this team that are not likely going to be here to see the turnaround finish. Some make too much money, others have lost a step, and then there are some that just never lived up to the hype. It’s time for the Dolphins to get hypes about new prospects.
It all starts with the third-overall pick the Dolphins currently own thanks to the Houston Texans.
