Phillies fans will love how Bryce Harper showed up to Spring Training
Bryce Harper has officially joined the team at Spring Training and the superstar slugger looks absolutely jacked.
Baseball is back and life is good for Philadelphia Phillies fans everywhere. Well, what could make things better? How about Bryce Harper showing up to Spring Training looking like a totally different man.
That’s right, the Phillies shared some photos of Harper swinging the lumber down at Spring Training and the slugger looks downright jacked. Seriously, it appears as if the lefty was living in the weight room this offseason.
Bryce Harper looks massive down at Phillies Spring Training
If you’re a pitcher in the NL East and you see these photos, you’ve got to be worried. Harper’s strength was already enough to send balls to the moon. Now, the home-run balls may never be touching down.
Last season, the veteran right fielder smashed 13 homers and added 33 RBI. In 2019, Harper left the yard 35 times, posting 114 RBI in his first campaign with the Phillies. Come this spring, the expectations will surely be high for Harper, but you already know he’ll do everything in his power to live up to the hype.
For the Phillies, the club is hoping to bounce back after going a disappointing 28-32 during the shortened 60-game campaign in 2020. The good news for the club is that along with Harper, J.T. Realmuto will also be ready to have another big season.
The standout catcher agreed to a new five-year deal with Philadelphia worth $115.5 million in late January. With Harper and Realmuto in the lineup, the Phillies offense will be ready to do some damage. Time will tell if it will be enough to help this team compete for a division title and potentially make some noise in the playoffs come next fall.
