Tom Brady will be chasing his eighth Super Bowl ring in 2021, but it sounds like he might have more than a few years left in the tank.

One of the pillar questions in life is what keeps us young? From health routines to facial creams to meditation, humans have been chasing the fountain of youth even before we wore our vanity on our sleeves.

No one actually knows the key to staying young, but it would appear that winning the Super Bowl seven times in your career doesn’t hurt.

Brady will be 44 years old when the next NFL season kicks off, but there doesn’t seem to be any signs of him slowing down any time soon. In fact, it sounds like Brady has more tread left on his tires and more coal to burn in his competitive furnace than we thought.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht was asked about Brady’s future and whether or not an extension was in the works.

“It’s a possibility,” Licht said coyly on The Rich Eisen Show“He certainly didn’t look like he slowed down any this year.”

Will Tom Brady sign an extension beyond 2021 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

When further pressed about the possibility of an extension, Licht didn’t spill the beans but arrived just short of the line and made sure to sprinkle the right amount of implication.

“It appears he had a really good time this year winning the Super Bowl, and he likes our organization, our coaches, our head coaches, and ownership and we certainly love him,” Licht said. “Usually when you have those two things going, it’s a match made in heaven so we’d like to keep this going.”

Brady is entering the final year of a two-year contract he signed with Tampa Bay last March. At the time, everyone made the same joke about an elderly East Coaster retiring to Florida at the end of his career. As it turned out, not only was the joke on everyone else — Brady won the Super Bowl less than a year later — but retirement seems to still be off in the distance.
