Ohio State basketball vs. Michigan State live stream: Betting odds, TV channel, prediction
Michigan State basketball looks to continue its late push towards an at-large berth by scoring a huge upset win over Ohio State basketball.
The race to get at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament is heating up and Michigan State is making its move. The Spartans aren’t quite on the bubble yet but finding a way to upset Illinois on Tuesday was a huge first step for Tom Izzo’s team.
That game was controlled by Michigan State from essentially the opening tip, with the Spartans holding off a late push from the Fighting Illini to score a huge 81-72 win. Aaron Henry led the way with 20 points while Joshua Langford made his impact felt on both ends of the floor, scoring 13 points and grabbing 16 rebounds to will his team to victory.
The end result was a third Quadrant I win for Michigan State, which needs to find a way to go at least 3-2 over its next five games to feel good about its at-large chances. That makes tonight’s game with Ohio State a huge opportunity for the Spartans to add another key win to their resume.
This contest is also important for Ohio State, which has had to stew in its hard-fought loss to Michigan for the past four days. No one came away from that game with any bad feelings towards the Buckeyes, who played their hearts out and showed why they are still projected to be a No. 1 seed if the season ended today, but another loss could knock them from that perch.
These two teams met at the end of January in Columbus with Ohio State routing the Spartans by 17 points. It certainly feels like the rematch in East Lansing will be a lot tighter.
