Bucks get reinforcements with Jrue Holiday returning soon
By Scott Rogust
After missing 10 straight games, Jrue Holiday is likely to make his return to the Milwaukee Bucks this weekend.
The Milwaukee Bucks must have felt like they rode a rollercoaster of emotions for the past 10 games. After defeating the Denver Nuggets, the Bucks went on a five-game skid before turning that into a four-game winning streak. Now, it appears that reinforcements could arrive this weekend.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, guard Jrue Holiday is likely to return for Milwaukee’s game against the LA Clippers on Sunday. Holiday has missed the past 10 games after being placed in the league’s health and safety protocol.
Holiday’s welcome return to the Bucks
Milwaukee had high expectations for Holiday, as they acquired him from the New Orleans Pelicans this past offseason in a massive four-team trade also including the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder. Holiday was going to be the starting point guard the Bucks have been missing. He would help Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton thrive and put the team over the edge as NBA title favorites in the Eastern Conference.
Those expectations were put on pause after he was placed in the health and safety protocol. After practicing on Saturday, Holiday is now in the clear to make his likely return on Sunday.
In 23 games this season, Holiday is averaging 16.4 points, 5.4 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 50.2 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from the 3-point line.
Holiday’s return is a welcome one for the Bucks and it could not come at a better time, as they face a Clippers team that has won three of their last six contests.
