Tiger Woods tweets out thanks to fellow golfers for touching tribute
Tiger Woods shared his appreciation for all his fellow golfers wearing red Sunday.
Tiger Woods was involved in a truly scary car accident Tuesday, and the focus shifted entirely away from golf. All that matters now is that he can recover and get back to full health without any major complications.
The news came out of nowhere, and the golf world was changed in an instant when details came out about the accident. Several of Woods’ fellow PGA golfers decided to honor him in a touching way on Sunday by donning his famous red shirt and black pants combo. The legend of the sport was watching the action and tweeted out his appreciation Sunday evening.
Tiger Woods appreciates the support
This was also the first tweet that has come directly from Woods since the accident. The others were general updates on the accident and his condition.
Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau, Jason Day and Patrick Reed were some of the big names to show up in Tiger’s usual Sunday outfit at the WGC-Workday Championship.
Tiger even got support at the Puerto Rico Open as the entire grounds crew wore red in honor of Woods.
The support and tributes should only keep coming as younger golfers look to both honor Woods and also channel some of his success with the famous Sunday get-up.
Seeing a tweet directly from Woods is a good sign, as is him being well enough to tune in and watch some golf as he recovers from a traumatic week. At this point, any positive update is welcome after more was learned about just how bad the accident was.
Small gestures like this go a long way. Wearing Woods’ traditional Sunday outfit may also inspire some golfers to up their play if they are trying to pay proper tribute to him.
