David Carr weirdly alters article suggesting Raiders should trade for Russell Wilson

Derek Carr’s brother, David, might need to look back at his article before posting. 

As the NFL offseason surges on, another name joins the conversation in the trade market. The Seattle Seahawks aren’t actively shopping quarterback Russell Wilson, nor has Wilson requested a trade.

Never say never in the realm of the trade market.

On Monday, NFL.com released an article on spots the Seahawks could trade Wilson should he want out this offseason. One of those four teams mentioned was the Las Vegas Raiders. Usually, no one would question the pairing of Jon Gruden with Wilson in Sin City.

But the author of this particular article? David Carr, the older brother of Raiders starting quarterback Derek Carr. Needless to say, there was a revision made, as reported by Pro Football Talk.

Would Carr want his brother out of Las Vegas?

What is the asking price for Wilson? No really, what is it? A player of Wilson’s caliber is never on the trade market, meaning it would cost a bundle to add him to the roster.

Currently, the Raiders are a team Wilson would waive his no-trade clause for should Seattle make him available. Carr would be heading to Seattle and likely multiple early-round selections would be going as well. Could a proven player be on the move?

Henry Ruggs III? Josh Jacobs? Trayvon Mullen? Ultimately, Seattle could ask for whatever they want and still try to pry for more. Wilson is not demanding a trade like Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, but he’s also not saying no if one of the teams goes and grabs him.

Carr being in the height of trade rumors feels somewhat like a bad dream. In back-to-back seasons, the younger brother of the former No. 1 pick has thrown for at least 4,000 yards and 21 touchdowns.

The Raiders have missed the postseason in all three seasons since Gruden’s return.

It feels wrong to say Carr would throw his brother overboard for Wilson’s services if he were the Raiders, but he also kind of said he would do that. It wouldn’t be surprising if Derek texted David with a question mark, wondering what he said wrong at the dinner table this week to be bad-mouthed.
