16. Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma’s game-day experience is different because a lot of it takes place inside bars instead of inside parking lots. O’Connell’s is the go-to bar for everyone visiting a Sooners game. The bar usually packed with Sooners’ fans, the menu is above average for a tailgating bar, and a full bar gives fans everything they need while they wait for Oklahoma kickoff.

The Walk of Champions will give you chills on game day. It’s relatively new (debuting in 2014), and is like the walks of other big schools. Legends Lobby is a sort of Hall of Fame for the Sooners that lets fans take in the long-standing history of this college program. Oklahoma has a lot of the traditions we’ve seen before (Stripe the Stadium, fans chanting “Oklahoma”), but there are one-of-a-kind traditions as well.

The Sooners start every game with a “Boomer Sooner” chant. It’s really intimidating since one side of the stadium screams “Boomer” while the other screams “Sooner”. It’s one of the best chants in college football. There’s also the Sooner Schooner is probably the most famous tradition, only because of when it crashes. However, having a two-horse buggy run onto the field after every touchdown is a sight to see.
