The Raiders once had a bevy of wide receivers on their depth chart. It is now gone.

Las Vegas released Tyrell Williams this offseason and have Nelson Agholor and Zay Jones hitting the open market as unrestricted free agents. With the potential of gaining a ton of cap space, the Raiders could put themselves in the market for one of the top wideouts to be available.

With the likes of Chris Godwin, Allen Robinson and Kenny Golladay being franchise-tagged by their respective teams, the Raiders could pivot to sign Curtis Samuel.

In 2020, Samuel took a bit of a backseat after the team signed Robby Anderson in the offseason. Even so, Samuel thrived through the air and on the ground. Through 16 games, Samuel caught 77-of-97 targets for 851 yards (career-high) and three touchdowns, while rushing for 200 yards and two scores on 41 carries.

With those numbers this past campaign, Samuel will cash-out as a free agent and fall well out of the Panthers’ price range. Given that Samuel is a speedster that can catch and carry the ball, you have to imagine he will capture the attention of Gruden this offseason.
