Was When Harry Met Sally filmed in New York City?

This rom-com story is not your prototypical lovey-dovey movie. The screenplay, acting, and storytelling are one of the key aspects that make this 1989 film standout from the rest.

After the two individuals are introduced by a mutual friend, they endure a long road trip to make it to New York. Eventually, the two make it, with Sally (Meg Ryan) being dropped off by Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village. The two sort of tail off from one another only to meet again later in life. Talk about destiny at its finest.

Harry (Billy Crystal) is seen at the old Giants Stadium after his divorce in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The stadium was demolished in 2010 following the opening of their new-shared Met Life Stadium. They run into each other at Shakespeare & Co. Booksellers, which is located at West 81st Street. They happened to stumble upon Central Park, which inadvertently leads them into the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or simply The Met, on Fifth Avenue. O

f course who can forget the infamous Sally “how to fake it” scene where Harry and Sally met in Katz’s Delicatessen on 205 East Houston Street. There’s actually a “Where Harry met Sally” sign inside the store, pointing to the exact seating where the scene was filmed. At last, the climactic scene where Harry finally mans up and decides to confess his love for Sally takes place at the Puck Building during the New Year’s Eve party. The building is located on Lafayette Street in SoHo and still stands today.
