Was The Wolf of Wall Street filmed in New York City?
In this instant-classic Martin Scorsese film, he packs his latest installment with a star-studded cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Matthew McConaughey amongst others.
This movie is based on the true story of how Jordan Belfort (DiCaprio) went on to become one of the richest men in the world cheating wealthy investors out of millions via the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) or simply Wall Street. Being it Wall Street, you know the actual NYSE, located on Nassau Street in Lower Manhattan, was filmed.
Belfort’s home, or should I say mansion, was filmed alongside Chestnut Hill Drive in Oyster Bay, NY. The building Belfort gets his first licensed broker job at is the Equitable Building located at 120 Broadway. There’s also the scene where the notorious Trump Tower gets some screen time. It’s the scene where Belfort’s wife Teresa (Cristin Milloti) drags the drugged-up DiCaprio from the limo towards the building. The infamous scene where DiCaprio meets his future partner in his money scheme, Donnie Azoff (Jonah Hill), at a diner is the Shalimar Diner in Rego Park, Queens.
There were some CGI scenes shot in this film like the sea storm scene. That was shot in Steiner Studios in Brooklyn. Oh yea, we can’t forget his scene with the FBI agent Patrick Denham (Kyle Chandler) onboard the Naomi, which was docked at the North Cove Marina, near the World Financial Center.
