Was Goodfellas filmed in New York City?

Originally adapted from the Nicholas Pileggi book, Wiseguy, Martin Scorsese really knocked it out of the park with this movie. This is one of the more influential movies amongst popular culture and still stands true almost 30 years later.

Everyone has at least since this movie once—if not, you definitely have to ASAP. Scorsese’s film takes the audience on a roller coaster ride full of emotions that will leave you wanting more. The majority of the movie was filmed in Astoria, Queens. Henry Hill’s (Ray Liotta) house is located along 24th Avenue in Astoria. The diner where Henry and Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci) grow a pair to steal a truck, is now Jackson Hole Diner, located on 70th Street and Astoria Boulevard.

The infamous “funny guy” scene between Pesci and Liotta took place at the Hawaii Kai restaurant, which is no longer standing. It was located at 50th Street in Midtown Manhattan. There are many scenes that are worth remembering from this film. For more on the locations, you can check them out here.
