Was Wall Street filmed in New York City?

Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) chooses to put Budd Fox (Charlie Sheen) under his wing and teach him the ropes in the stock market game. Gekko’s own offices were actually filmed at the 222 Broadway office building, which ironically enough is occupied by wealth management company Merrill Lynch.

The upscale 21 Club makes an appearance in the scene where Gekko gets to sample seasoned raw steak is located at 21 West 52nd Street. The notorious scene where Gekko gives his “Greed is good…” speech took place at the Grand Ballroom in the Roosevelt Hotel in midtown Manhattan.

The actual New York Stock Exchange trading floor was used for the filming of various scenes. Tavern on the Green in Central Park is seen during the meeting of Gekko and Fox. Lastly, who can forget the New York Supreme Court Building appearance, where the final showdown takes place between Fox and the government charges.
