The Los Angeles Clippers will hope to stay safe during the All-Star break but Kawhi Leanord was caught being super gross on the bench on Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Clippers fell to the Washington Wizards in their final game before the All-Star break on Thursday evening. Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 33 points and Russell Westbrook added another 27 to just push Washington past Los Angeles 119-117.

Washington was able to win eight of its last 11 heading into the All-Star break and is quietly inching back into relevancy in the less-than-stellar Eastern Conference. The Clippers fell to 24-14 and have quickly watched their second-place Western Conference spot turn into a fourth. They’ve lost six of their last nine heading into the All-Star break. Patrick Beverley had 17 points and Ivica Zubac had 13 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.

Kawhi Leonard finished with 22 points in the loss, but the cool points he undoubtedly lost in this moment on the bench should sting more.

The Clippers are struggling as Kawhi Leonard is selected to Team Durant for the All-Star Game

Leonard was selected to his fifth NBA All-Star Game this season, having been selected as a starter in each appearance. On Thursday night, The Claw learned that he would be competing for Team Durant in this year’s competition. He was of course named the MVP of last year’s game and is looking to assert his dominance amongst the best of his peers once again.

Still, as amazing as Leonard is on the court, we all know he’s not the coolest of guys.

That was encapsulated in this moment on the Clippers bench in the closing moments of last night’s game.

While this wasn’t technically a violation of the league’s health and safety protocols, it is still pretty disgusting. I’d like six feet please, Mr. Leonard.

All jokes aside, the Clippers will need to get rested and healthy and some sort of chemistry by the time they return back from the break. They can’t feel good about the way the first half of the season ended.
