Patrick Mahomes has the perfect reaction to Drake’s lyric about him
The Patrick Mahomes and Drake bromance seems to have taken a hit after the rapper name-dropped the former MVP in his new song.
It’s always interesting when two of the biggest stars in their respective fields collide. We all loved the Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson promos when those two were at the heights of their careers. These days, Drake is arguably the biggest star in the music business while young Patrick Mahomes has quickly ascended into superstardom, appearing in back-to-back Super Bowls and having already secured a big game win and an MVP trophy at the age of 25.
Drake released his ‘Scary Hours 2′ EP on Friday and fans are talking about the bars that he decided to dedicate to the young quarterback.
“Patty Mahomes, ’bouta fall short a couple hundred,” rapped the Canadian. He had to have been polling fun at Mahomes, seeing as his contract is the goal for other quarterbacks his age.
Mahomes took to Twitter to react. Perfect gif selection.
Drake and Patrick Mahomes have a history
The two appeared in a State Farm commercial together during the big game in January. In a star-studded promo, Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers and Jake from State Farm all discuss their stand-ins on the set of a State Farm commercial. Actor Paul Rudd posed as the double for Mahomes while Jake From State Farm got a much cooler stand-in in the biggest rapper on the planet.
Now, it looks like the self-proclaimed ‘Certified Lover Boy’ is sending some friendly shots at his superstar friend.
Drake is expected to release his heavily anticipated album sometime soon. Mahomes will surely be getting back to work to inspire some more favorable lines from Drake in the future.
