The 2021 NBA All-Star Game takes place on Sunday, where Team LeBron James takes on Team Kevin Durant.

The 2021 NBA All-Star Game has finally arrived. This year, the teams will be captained by LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets.

Earlier on Sunday, both teams took a hit after learning Philadelphia 76ers stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons were ruled out after being deemed as close contacts to a barber who tested positive for COVID-19. Embiid was set to start for Team Durant but will instead be replaced in the starting lineup by Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans. Williamson is now the fourth-youngest player to start in an NBA All-Star Game, behind Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson and James.

Durant will not be playing in the NBA All-Star Game due to a hamstring strain. Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is starting in his place.

The festivities will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET with the Skills Challenge and the 3-Point Contest. The NBA All-Star Game will take place around 8:00 p.m. ET. The Slam Dunk Contest will take place at halftime.
