LeBron James had plenty of praise for All-Star teammate Steph Curry
LeBron James and Steph Curry have long been rivals in the NBA, but the superstars enjoyed being teammates in the NBA All-Star Game.
The NBA All-Star Game was a little different this year than in the past with the Slam Dunk Contest, 3-Point Shootout and Skills Challenge taking place on the day of the game. It was also different for LeBron James and Stephen Curry who put their rivalry aside to team up for the first time.
LeBron drafted the Warriors superstar and two-time MVP to play on Team LeBron against Team Durant and came away with the 170-150 win. Curry took home his second 3-Point Shootout title with another cold-blooded performance that he made look way-too-easy.
He came close to winning the NBA All-Star Game MVP Award too if it wasn’t for Giannis Antetokounmpo scoring a game-high 35 points on a perfect 16-for-16 shooting. Curry’s 28 points were third-most on Team LeBron behind Giannis and Damian Lillard who had 32, punctuated by a 40-foot game-winner.
LeBron James, Stephen Curry relish being teammates in NBA All-Star Game
Those totals dwarfed LeBron’s four points in 13 minutes in what was effectively a night off for the Los Angeles Lakers star who has logged heavy minutes in the first half of the season.
For LeBron, it was all about relishing in the opportunity to be teammates with Curry and celebrate him making one 3-pointer after another instead of trying to outplay him and his teammates.
After the game, LeBron tweeted he relished playing with Curry who he called the greatest shooter of all time who has single-handedly changed the game.
Curry reciprocated the love and said he was happy to get the win.
While both LeBron and Curry have been on some superteams throughout their careers, don’t hold your breath for the two future Hall-of-Famers teaming up anywhere outside of the All-Star Game.
