WCC Conference Tournament

  • Dates: March 4-9
  • Location: Las Vegas, NV
  • Venue: Orleans Arena
  • Top Seed: Gonzaga
  • Bracket

This event has been underway but the WCC Tournament doesn’t really begin until the semifinals. The conference tournament is heavily stacked in favor of the top two seeds, who get byes all the way until that round, which begins tonight.

The story here is simply whether or not Gonzaga finds a way to win the last two games it needs to in order to enter the NCAA Tournament undefeated. The Bulldogs have stampeded over the rest of college basketball this season and should have little trouble with Saint Mary’s.

The other semifinal features BYU, which is the league’s other tournament lock, against Pepperdine. Those two split their season series, and a win from the Waves could set up a potential bid-thief scenario on Tuesday night.

That won’t matter, however, since the only team in the WCC that can beat Gonzaga is Gonzaga. As long as the Bulldogs show up over the next two nights they will win the conference tournament with ease.

Prediction: Gonzaga Bulldogs
