DraftKings PGA Tour fantasy golf picks: THE PLAYERS Championship 2021
DraftKings THE PLAYERS Championship picks: $7,000 range
Cameron Smith, $7,900 – Nothing about Smith overwhelms you but he consistently pops up in big tournaments, evidenced by finishing T2 at The Masters and top five at both the ZOZO and Genesis. His irons could play well here.
Tommy Fleetwood, $7,900 – Fleetwood finally seemed to find something at the API as he notched a top-10. He has two top-10 finishes in his last three starts at THE PLAYERS and he could be a great value.
Louis Oosthuizen, $7,800 – DraftKings players might be frustrated with Oosthuizen after he withdrew following lineups locking last week. But he’s been in good form and is a premier ball-striker who can play well at this course.
Will Zalatoris, $7,600 – This will be Zalatoris’s debut at THE PLAYERS but his form has been phenomenal for the past year. He’s a top-20 machine and an elite ball-striker. Perhaps he could pop up again in a loaded field.
Max Homa, $7,600 – It feels like not enough people are looking at Homa’s ball-striking lately that has led to a win and two other top-10 finishes in his last four starts. He’s been flushing it and represents a nice value play.
Sergio Garcia, $7,500 – With 16 straight made cuts at TPC Sawgrass and as a past champion, you have to look at Sergio here. His recent form has not been spectacular in the U.S. but his history is near unmatched in this tournament.
Corey Conners, $7,400 – We saw the high-end potential of Conners at the API as he flirted with a win and he’s one of the best ball-strikers on the PGA Tour. His putting can leave him, though, which always makes him a risk.
Lanto Griffin, $7,300 – Griffin has not finished worse than T26 in his last four starts and is playing quite well right now. That has left him before, which could be a problem but the recent form indicates some potential for value at this low price.
Cameron Tringale, $7,200 – Especially at this price, you have to like what Tringale has been doing of late. He has made eight-straight cuts and has only finished outside the top 26 twice in that span, including two top 10s.
Lee Westwood, $7,200 – Westwood popped up in contention to win the API last week and, though he’s closer to 50 than 40, his iron game remains flush. It’s a bit of recency bias but you don’t have to pay a lot to buy in.
Christian Bezuidenhout, $7,100 – Again going back to the first round last year, Bezuidenhout was in second when THE PLAYERS was halted in 2020. Coming off a top 10 at the API, he’s intriguing at the bottom of this pricing tier on DraftKings.
