It might sound crazy, but there is a way the Green Bay Packers could trade for Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Green Bay Packers are in dire need of another wide receiver. Rather than draft one with the No. 29 overall pick, FS1’s Nick Wright suggests they could trade for one by parting ways with that late first-round pick for Cleveland Browns star Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham is entering the third year of a five-year deal he initially signed with the New York Giants. He is slated to make $14.5 million in base salary for 2021 and will not be hitting free agency until 2024 ahead of his age-32 NFL season. This means his current contract could align with Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ last few pushes for a second Super Bowl championship in Green Bay.

Should the Green Bay Packers trade for Odell Beckham Jr. ahead of 2021?

If you are the Packers, you have to do something. Rodgers is not getting any younger and the franchise is not winning a Super Bowl without him as their star quarterback. So as it is with every offseason, we are hoping the Packers will get Rodgers some help. Unfortunately, those demands from the fans almost always fall on deaf ears. Maybe they will draft another project quarterback?

As for Beckham, he may want to go to the Packers. While there is absolutely no glitz or glamor associated with Green Bay, Wisconsin, Beckham will never play with a better quarterback in his NFL career. Therefore, he will never have a better chance of winning a Super Bowl than linking up with Rodgers and the Packers. For a No. 29 overall pick, it may be worth the gamble for Green Bay.

Nobody is going to blame the Packers for going all-in on winning it all in the next few seasons.
